About "Nateeja"

"Nateeja" forecasts and records Emirati football: the Pro League, the First, Second and Third Divisions, and the senior cups. The archive goes back to the 1973-74 season.

Each league page carries a forecast of how the season ends, rebuilt after every round, next to a record of how accurate past forecasts have been.

The site is in Arabic and English. It carries no advertising and needs no account.

Why it exists

A personal project, made out of an attachment to Emirati football, by one person with an interest in the game, in its history, and in data.

The lower divisions are recorded on the same terms as the Pro League, and past seasons on the same terms as the current one.

It is not a commercial project.

What is here

• The four divisions. Table, forecast, fixtures, and each club's chance of going up, going down or taking the title.
• What if. Pick results for matches still to play, for one club or several, and watch the whole division move.
• The archive. Season by season back to 1973-74, with the cups, club records and head-to-head.
• Method and accuracy. How the forecasts are made, and a table of how they have actually performed, including where they have been overconfident.

What this is not

It is not official. "Nateeja" is independent of the UAE Football Association, the UAE Pro League and every club, takes money from none of them, and speaks for none of them.

It is not betting advice, and it is not written with betting in mind.

And it is not all-knowing. The model reads results and nothing else. It does not know about transfers, injuries, managers or money, which in these divisions decide a great deal.
